A seasoned sales manager and trainer, Ian has over 30 years experience as a sales and marketing professional, and more recently as a Learning & Development Executive.
Ian has held a variety of international executive field and staff roles for companies including Burroughs, Digital Equipment Corporation, and Siebel Systems. He has lived in Oslo, Norway, Geneva, Switzerland, and the UK.
For Ascension, Ian plays a lead role managing our business-to-business sales training and development practice. In this capacity, he works hands-on with Ascension clients where he designs and implements customized training for the direct and indirect sales teams, channels, marketing groups, and internal customer service functions.
Ian focuses on driving sales and marketing effectiveness through the application of the "science" (methodology and process) and the "art" (skills) of selling. He is a certified Change Management Practitioner, and has authored White Papers on Establishing Lasting Change across Sales and Marketing Organizations, Account Management, and Best Practices in On-line Instructor-led Training.
